  About

Current Club membership

The current Club membership is 150. Ages range from 15 to mid 60's. Until recently there was a lack of younger riders in the Club and one of the current aims is to encourage younger members into the Club. However in the past year there has been an influx of new younger members, several of which are students, Juniors and schoolboys. Hopefully this trend will continue. There are also a few women in the club and the numbers are increasing.

There is no discrimination as to who may join the Club and anyone wishing to join, no matter what level of competence or age will be made most welcome. The club has members around the Country and tries to foster a degree of camaraderie such that when members have to leave the area as a result of their jobs they continue as members. Anyone wishing to join the club should contact the club secretary or turn up at the meeting venue.

Club members now actively participate in all branches of the sport including Road Racing, Time Trialling, Track racing, Triathlon and Duathlon, Audax and cyclo-cross events. There are no set sub divisions and members switch between disciplines. The club is affiliated to all Major organizations and there are always members available to give advice where needed.

Club Fees

The current annual club fees:

  • Seniors - £10
  • Juniors and Youths: Free
  • Students - non racing: £5
  • Student racing members - Free

Annual fees are due on the 1st of January. Payment may be made by cash, cheque, standing order or direct transfer. Email the club secretary if you need account details for the last two methods

Affiliations

The Club is affiliated to the BCF, RTTC, Coaching North, The British Triathlon Association and the N & DCA. Members are therefore eligible to compete in events organised by these Organisations. Riders wishing to Road Race or compete in Sanctioned MTB events must also have the relevant BCF Licence.

Coaching

The Club currently has one nationally qualified Coach - Russ Snowdon. During the winter months Russ often organises trips to the national Velodrome in Manchester for those wishing to savour the thrills of Track Racing. A Track Bike is not required as the Velodrome provides them.
